========================= CQB Practice a Battlefield 1942 map by RussianComrade ========================= US Army vs. Germany Gametypes: Conquest, Coop/SP, CTF Map Type: Head-On Map Size: Small Tools Used: Battlecraft 1942, Editor42, Photoshop 7.0, winRFA, packRFA, Notepad, XnView, and so on... /|---|\ ABOUT \|---|/ A while back, a clanmate (TigerAce) came up with an idea for a Forgotten Hope training map where you could play about with all the SMGs and other automatic weapons. While that plan never came to fruition, this is a spinoff of that concept using a little Paint drawing he used to illustrate the idea. However, I needed a similar-themed map for my current mod project - I had a sniper training map and a firing range, so a CQB training map would fit the set perfectly. So after 20 minutes of mapping, 30 of ironing out all the bugs I could find, and 4 cups of coffee, this is the result. It's designed for small battles - have a LAN with your friends and play some CTF, or if you just want a map that runs smooth, loads quickly, and gets you into the action quickly you can start blasting away some bots. The maximum recommended amount of players is 16. More than that, and it gets a bit too crowded. Also - there's no ammoboxes or medic lockers. You'll have to rely on your team's medics and loot weapons from dead enemies. /|--------|\ INSTALLATION \|--------|/ Move the file 'CQB_Training.rfa' to your BF1942 levels directory, for me: C: -> Program Files -> EA Games -> Battlefield 1942 -> Mods -> bf1942 -> Archives -> bf1942 -> Levels /|-------|\ LEGAL STUFF \|-------|/ As usual: You can give it out to your friends, edit it, or make new maps based on it but just don't take credit for stuff you didn't do. I wouldn't appreciate that. If this busts your computer in any way, I'm not responsible. Sorry, but it was your decision to put it on your comp. /|---|\ CREDITS \|---|/ Smig for the African Wall objects. =2AIF=TigerAce, for the concept idea "Tiger's Kitchen" (don't ask me why it was his kitchen - it's some long-gone joke I think) that inspired this map. /|------|\ CONTACT ME \|------|/ Any problems, suggestions, or comments email me at: russian_comrade AT hotmail DOT com I'm only sporadically working on mapping and modding and have a lot of other commitments at the moment, so I can't embark on any further projects for a while.
