The Road to Rome
This is a Conquest: Assault map. Your team will win if you cause your opponent's tickets to reach zero. The Americans can reduce the German tickets quickly by holding all of the control points on the map. The Germans can reduce the American's tickets gradually by holding all of the control points on the map.
Longest Day - Omaha Beach. Version 1.0 Copyright 2003, J. Reynolds. March 7th, 2003. ------------- Requirements: ------------- 1) Battlefield 1942 2) Road to Rome expansion pack 3) See above for additional hardware requirements. ------------- Installation: ------------- Extract and place the file in your Battlefield 1942/Mods/Xpack1/Archives/BF1942/Levels folder. Run Battlefield 1942, Road to Rome. The Map will appear in any multiplayer game mode (conquest, capture the flag, or team death match). Singleplayer support is not currently available but is being researched for future inclusion. Serveradmins: follow the same steps. The map will be available to add under the Road To Rome expansion pack list. ------------- Features: ------------- 1) Near to accurate rendering of eastern half of Omaha Beach. 2) 3 allied destroyers, all non-moveable. 3) Flippable paradrop spawn point with spawn locales all over the map to simulate "lost" paratroopers. 4) Minimal heavy equipment, but with plenty of scout cars for travel. 5) Pak40 emplacements scattered over the map. 6) Should be suitable for 32 to 64 players, depending on server hardware and bandwidth. ------------- Known Issues: ------------- 1) There is a mild to severe frame-rate slowdown when in the area at the back of the map where the trees and brush are thickest. The only way to resolve the issue is to turn down your graphics settings. 2) Ships are NON-MOVABLE! See "Features" list above. This is to reduce lag and allow for greater numbers of players. ------------- Updates: ------------- ( version 1.1 ) Bug Fixes: Fixed clipping issue around bunkers. Fixed spawning at greyed out flags problem in TDM/CTF. Fixed ship sinking sound when scoutcars pass over large bumps. Changes: Added two new spawn points at either end of central cliff. Removed east cliff spawn point and paraspawn. Main beach spawn moved to water's edge. Central storage facility spawn starts the game greyed out. Terrain between cliff and central storage facility spawn now hilly to provide more cover. Panzer IV at central storage facility spawn changed to sturmgeshutz. Allies now have M3GMC as well as M3A1 troop carrier. Additional vehicle spawns added. Some new static objects added.
